Kinshasa, the capital city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, hosted the International Conference of Central Africa Disciples (CIDAC) from August 9-13.

Brothers and sisters from the six countries that make up the Central African region gathered for a time of incredible fellowship, prayer, communion, and, most importantly, worship.
The fifth edition of this event also welcomed guests from the churches in Lomé (Togo), Abidjan (Ivory Coast), and Lagos (Nigeria).
The theme for the conference was “Fulfilled in Christ” based on Colossians 2:9-10. The speakers reminded participants that their true identity is found in Christ, and why they should cling to it. They emphasized that “Christ in us is the hope of the glory (Colossians 1:25-29), and true happiness can only live in us when Christ is in us. For that reason, Christ must be enough!” Furthermore, for Christ to be enough in our lives, we should, “have a good motivation to follow him (John 1:38) and kill the ‘Me’ ego in us (John 12:23-24).”

In addition, the speakers stressed that the secret of fulfillment in Christ is far removed from worldly possessions of any kind. True fulfillment rather lies in knowing that we are co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17), and the advantage of knowing we have a special place in heaven reserved for us with Christ, our Lord (Colossians 3 and 4). Therefore, the secret of fulfillment lies in Christ and Christ only.
The next edition of CIDAC will be held in Douala, Cameroon in 2025.
