Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20

For several years, the dream was conceived, that of implanting a new church in the interior of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Prayers, fasts and sacrifices to God were made, and in spite of several obstacles, the month of July 2022 saw this dream come true.

On Sunday, July 31, 2022 we finally celebrated the birth of a new church in Mbuji-Mayi, the capital of the province of Kasai Oriental, and also the second largest city in the country with an estimated population of 3 million (2,765,000) inhabitants, located in the center of the Democratic Republic of Congo. This miracle was the work of a team of 16 disciples from different churches in DRC (Kinshasa, Tshikapa, Kananga), who went on mission and succeeded to bring nearly 150 guests for the inaugural service.

The new church is led by Patrick and Gloria Ngandu. It brings the total number of churches in the DRC to seven, and to 17 in the Central African Region.

And in just two months since its planting, the new church of Mbuji-Mayi has 19 baptisms, glory be to our God. And among these baptisms, we mention the baptisms of six family members of our evangelist Moses Kalala, leader of the Central African Region, including his older sister (pictured above), three of his nephews and two of his nephews’ wives.

The new church leader’s older brother and his wife were also baptized (pictured below). The choir director and his technical director of one of the big choirs of the city, were also baptized.

To God alone be given all the glory!
