The Central Jersey Church of Christ is excited to announce our plan to send a mission team to Montevideo, Uruguay in 2023. Along with disciples from the Argentinian family of churches, we are working together to build a team to spread the gospel in Uruguay, which is currently the only country in South America without a church in our fellowship of churches.
Uruguay has a population of 3.4 million people of which 1.4 million live in the capital city of Montevideo. Montevideo is also the location of The University of the Republic, with a student body of more than 100,000. With such a fertile field, we believe there are many open hearts to reach out to and help connect with God. We want to ask you to join us in prayer and fasting that God will assemble a team of disciples willing to answer the call to go and preach the Gospel.
We need not just people for the mission team but also a full-time, Spanish-speaking couple to lead this effort. Specifically for potential team members, we are looking for:
- Faithful disciples who are committed to the mission and either know Spanish or are willing to learn Spanish before the planting in 2023;
- Disciples of Uruguayan origin or descent, or those from neighboring South American countries, would be great additions;
- Team members from every life stage: marrieds, singles and campus disciples, including students who are interested in serving for a year as part of the church planting.
