{"id":195,"date":"2011-12-26T14:37:31","date_gmt":"2011-12-26T14:37:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/icoccooptest.org\/2011\/12\/26\/2011-icoc-annual-delegates-conference-report\/"},"modified":"2024-02-06T18:08:31","modified_gmt":"2024-02-06T16:08:31","slug":"2011-icoc-annual-delegates-conference-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/disciplestoday.org\/clone\/2011-icoc-annual-delegates-conference-report\/","title":{"rendered":"2011 ICOC Annual Delegates Conference Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"122\" height=\"89\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/icocco-op.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/christisall.jpg?resize=122%2C89\" alt=\"christisall.jpg\" class=\"wp-image-188\" title=\"christisall.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Centered on the theme \u201cChrist is All,\u201d&nbsp;Delegates selected by their geographic regions from around the globe met for the 2011 ICOC annual Delegates Conference in Budapest, Hungary December 1-2.&nbsp; We dearly missed the Delegates from East and West Africa whose visas were denied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"http:\/\/icocco-op.org\/church-list\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Churches<\/a> in 137 countries representing over 90% of the membership in the International Churches of Christ family have committed to the <a href=\"https:\/\/disciplestoday.org\/clone\/clone\/historical-documents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Plan for United Cooperation<\/a>.\u00a0 Each year the spirit of cooperation and unity grows and matures.\u00a0The annual Delegates Conference will be held before a regional conference in various parts of the world to give an opportunity for the Delegates to meet disciples on all continents.\u00a0 We look forward to the 2012 meeting preceding the 2012 World Discipleship Summit in San Antonio, Texas which is scheduled for July 5 \u2013 8 with over 10,000 expected. Reports are given to the Delegates each year and published for all members on <a href=\"http:\/\/icocco-op.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">icoc.org<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.DisciplesToday.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DisciplesToday.org<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click here for the <a href=\"http:\/\/icocco-op.org\/service-team-members\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Service Teams and members<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the appropriate Service Team in the Main Menu to see their reports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click here to learn more about the <a href=\"http:\/\/icocco-op.org\/icoc-delegates-roles-and-responsibilities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Roles and Responsibilities of Delegates and Service Teams<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chairmen for the various service teams are selected by the Delegates on a rotating basis.&nbsp; The Chairman then selects the members of his or her service team with the exception of the Evangelists Service Team whose members are all selected by the Delegates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These Chairmen were elected for the next three years of service:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Women\u2019s Service Team: Robin Williams, LA and Jeanie Shaw, Boston<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Elders Service Team: Wyndham Shaw, Boston<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communication and Administration Service Team: Roger Lamb, Chicago<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chairmen Service Team: Roger Lamb, Chicago<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"implementation\"><strong>Implementation: <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Follow up and accountability with the implementation of previous decisions that were made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Support of HOPE <em>worldwide<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support of Disciples Today<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2020 Vision Reports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"new-proposals-and-presentations\"><strong>New Proposals and Presentations:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In another growth step for our unity and cooperation, the Delegates were given an opportunity in advance to suggest areas of concern to be discussed and to begin the proposal process at the Delegates Conference. Presentations were made for each of these areas followed by group discussions and reports to the entire group. This is our current decision-making process:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Churches and Delegates submit Proposals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proposals presented, discussed and worked on at the Delegate Meetings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evangelist, Elder, Teacher Committees refine and package Proposal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Delegates review and give feedback to proposal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Churches Review and give feedback to proposal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proposals are voted on at next Delegate meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These were the six areas of discussion:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Vision and Inspiration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mission and Missionaries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discipleship Rebooted<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Global Unity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Youth and Family Ministry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unified Curriculum for Ministry Training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are the various Proposals and Guidelines Generated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/disciplestoday.org\/clone\/clone\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/healthy_youth__family_ministry_guidelines_-_november_2010-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Healthy Youth &amp;
