Once your friend has decided to not harm themselves, they need support to get back on track. Consider these valuable resources: <\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> The Church <\/span>\n  <span> &#8211; As a professional counselor, I&#8217;m always impressed with the Lord&#8217;s church and how it represents a supportive environment for those hurting. Of course, it&#8217;s not perfect and not set up for intense professional counseling, but all the same it is a very helpful place to find support. Think about the resources we have: <\/span>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n  <li>\n    <span> The Word to instruct and encourage <\/span>\n  <\/li>\n  <li>\n    <span> Close friendships who know us well, care about us, and share our values <\/span>\n  <\/li>\n  <li>\n    <span> Community <\/span>\n  <\/li>\n  <li>\n    <span> A purpose in life &#8211; to know God and help others <\/span>\n  <\/li>\n  <li>\n    <span> A hope for our future <\/span>\n  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n  <span> Make sure you help your friend find recovery and benefit from the church: <\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <span style=\"font-style: italic\"> Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church&#8230; &#8211; <\/span>\n  <span> Ephesians 3:20-21 <\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> Professional Counseling <\/span>\n  <span> &#8211; In the US, we enjoy a plethora of choices in getting professional help. Professional counselors, therapists, school counselors, and social workers are well trained in this area. If money is an issue, there are many community or county based facilities who will work with your friend on a sliding scale. <\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> Hotlines <\/span>\n  <span> &#8211; These are 24\/7\/365 resources that are not only for a crisis, but are also a helpful place to find resources. Here are a few: <\/span>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/suicidepreventionlifeline.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Suicide Prevention Hotline<\/a><span>; text Home to 741741 or try this app: <\/span>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/jasonfoundation.com\/get-involved\/student\/a-friend-asks-app\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A Friend Asks<\/a><span> for your phone. <\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <span style=\"font-style: italic\"> The church setting is the the perfect place for recovery. Learn how to set up a <\/span>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inmotioncounseling.org\/\" style=\"font-style: italic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Disciples In Motion<\/a>\n  <span style=\"font-style: italic\">\n    <span style=\"font-style: italic\"> weekend visit with Tim. It includes many different opportunities for mental health trainings in the church setting.
