\n When Paul and his companions had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they cameto Thessalonica, where there was a Jewish synagogue. <\/i>\n Aswas his custom, Paul went into the synagogue, and on threeSabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and proving that the Messiah had to suffer and risefrom the dead. \u201cThis Jesus I am proclaiming to you is theMessiah,\u201d he said. \u2013 <\/i> Acts 17: 1-3 (NIV)\n<\/p>\n

The synagogue was a place where Jews gathered to celebrate theirceremonies, listen to the Torah, pray and discuss their beliefs. Similarly, othercultures had their meeting places. For example, the agora in the Greek world and the forum in the Roman. <\/p>\n

Today, in the era of technology andinformation, the situation is no different. We seek to cast a net,spreading the Word to as many people as possible, and then personallystudy with those who respond. Thanks to technology, many borders that separated us have been eliminated. <\/p>\n

The International Church of Christ in Medell\u00edn<\/a>, Colombia uses our website and social media networks as an evangelism tool. Through it, fourpeople have reached the waters of baptism. Many people (disciples of Christ and non-believers) have been able tobenefit from online sermons that are published weekly on the various channelsand some of these people have visited the church. <\/p>\n

For six months, Jairo Gutierrez listened to the online lessons and read his Bible. He began to sense his faith growing. While scrolling through the church’s Facebook page<\/a>, he saw a picture of his cousin who attends the church. Jairo reached out to his cousin, started attending the church, and was baptized a few months later. <\/p>\n

Jairo started reaching out to his family and his cousin and his cousin’s wife were also baptized. Jairobegan to serve by teaching new Christians the Deep Convictionsclasses. Two years ago, Jairo got married and now together with his wife LinaRu\u00edz, they lead the youth ministry. <\/p>\n

Technology can be used for God’s glory! <\/p>\n
