God is moving in a powerful way in California’s Central Coast as disciples from Santa Maria, Arroyo Grande, Atascadero and beyond begin a new fellowship in San Luis Obispo called 101 Christian Church. San Luis Obispo is home to nationally ranked California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly).

Students Alessandra Casey from the San Diego Church of Christ and Chase Avery from the Santa Barbara Church of Christ recently joined this ministry in response to the One-Year Challenge.

More than 175 people attended the inaugural service in April. Among them included many visitors looking for truth who made decisions to study the Bible. This was an answer to many prayers, thanks to the financial sacrifices by churches throughout the Pacific Southwest U.S.

Kip and Bethany Harms are leading this church planting with the aim to build unity, family and lifetime memories.

“A word I would use for the 101 Christian Church is ‘restoration’; a restoration of faith, love and unity,” said Kip. “We are inspired to see our small group leaders come together to bring God’s vision to the Central Coast.”

This ministry is sharing the gospel at bonfires on the beach, summer park services, even barn services, Kip said.

“We are excited about the future of the 101 Christian Church,” said Bethany. “We are kicking off our young adult ministry this fall with the addition of two students being baptized, Jude Walker and Mikayla Nations. God is moving on our campuses.”

Please keep this ministry in your prayers, as we believe God has many hearts waiting to hear the gospel and to respond to the message in the Central Coast.

God is moving in a powerful way in California’s Central Coast as disciples from Santa Maria, Arroyo Grande, Atascadero and…

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
_jetpack_featured_image_duplicate_dismissed":0
_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[71
61,54
151
post-5076","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-missions","tag-north-america
https://i0.wp.com/disciplestoday.org/clone/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/101christianchurchbaptism.jpeg?fit=1600%2C1388&ssl=1
Campus
https://i0.wp.com/disciplestoday.org/clone/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/101Campus.jpg?fit=1200%2C800&ssl=1&resize=350%2C200
https://i0.wp.com/disciplestoday.org/clone/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/101Campus.jpg?fit=1200%2C800&ssl=1&resize=350%2C200 1x, https://i0.wp.com/disciplestoday.org/clone/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/101Campus.jpg?fit=1200%2C800&ssl=1&resize=525%2C300 1.5x, https://i0.wp.com/disciplestoday.org/clone/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/101Campus.jpg?fit=1200%2C800&ssl=1&resize=700%2C400 2x, https://i0.wp.com/disciplestoday.org/clone/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/101Campus.jpg?fit=1200%2C800&ssl=1&resize=1050%2C600 3x
We are excited to announce the replanting of the San Luis Obispo Church, now known as the 101 Christian Church.

In "News
https://i0.wp.com/disciplestoday.org/clone/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/101christianchurch.jpg?fit=975%2C650&ssl=1&resize=350%2C200
https://i0.wp.com/disciplestoday.org/clone/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/101christianchurch.jpg?fit=975%2C650&ssl=1&resize=350%2C200 1x, https://i0.wp.com/disciplestoday.org/clone/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/101christianchurch.jpg?fit=975%2C650&ssl=1&resize=525%2C300 1.5x, https://i0.wp.com/disciplestoday.org/clone/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/101christianchurch.jpg?fit=975%2C650&ssl=1&resize=700%2C400 2x
The year was 2016 and we had just attended the Reach conference in St. Louis.
