Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you.

I Thessalonians 5:12

When we think of Dave and Kathy Eastman, we think of them as servants of God, worthy of honor. Dave was baptized in 1976 in Gainesville, Florida as a University of Florida freshman and Kathy was baptized in 1978 in Muncie, Indiana as a Ball State University junior. They met in 1980 and married in 1983 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Like many of us who heard the call to “go and make disciples,” their lives speak to doing just that. They went! Here’s a small list of the many moves they made to serve God and build the kingdom!

They moved to Boston, San Diego, Phoenix, Chicago, Minneapolis, Toronto, L.A. North, Mission Viejo, Irvine, Orlando, Chicago Westside, and back to Indianapolis!

This is just a small sample of the sacrifices they made to serve. If we totaled all of the moves within the different cities themselves it would total about 43! All of this speaks to their love, faith, conviction, trust, perseverance of two people who have given their hearts to honor Jesus with their lives. The “circle of life” is complete as they end their ministry work here in Indianapolis, which is where they spent the early part of their career.

Dave and Kathy, thank you for setting us an example here in Indianapolis of servants that have given your very best to serve us and minister to us during some of the most difficult and emotional times in your lives. You have impacted thousands and thousands of lives and we are thankful as a congregation that you have finished your ministry career serving us. We praise God for how you have honored him with your lives and we are grateful for your service over the last seven years! May God’s grace continue to strengthen you as you transition to the next chapter of your lives.

With deep respect and love,
