Surrounded by unspoiled nature, majestic mountains, ancient glaciers, majestic fjords, crystal clear lakes, and gorgeous waterfalls; the Great Land Christian Church (GLCC) is an exciting, forward-thinking, graced-based church that is seeking volunteer, full-time, and part-time interns to learn, grow and thrive as a part of our Ministry Apprenticeship Program (M.A.P.). Discover the beauty of God’s creation, the majesty of his Kingdom, and the wonders of his church as you strive to serve and learn the full ministry of Jesus.
Program Overview
The GLCC M.A.P. is designed to give individuals firsthand ministry experience and provide an opportunity for a real-world apprenticeship, servant leadership, nonprofit business training, and life skills development. We offer a wide range of experiences, from serving at our agricultural camp to leading wilderness trips to ministering in the urban Anchorage areas. We will match your skills with the best opportunities to grow and develop. Interns will gain proficiency by serving and working with the leadership team, board, and various church groups to make an impact and spread the gospel throughout our community.
GLCC is uniquely positioned to provide this type of experience through our house church model and the Gateway To The Arctic agricultural retreat facility. Gateway to the Arctic Camp is a hub for the community. It is 100 acres that consist of a farm, a lodge, cabins, trails, and a view of the largest mountain in the US. The Camp was founded in 2013 by Anchorage’s Great Land Christian Church and has continued to grow ever since. We host day and week-long summer camps for the local community, youth, and adults with special abilities. We teach construction, agriculture, Alaska bushcraft, sustainability, and much more. We will incorporate and explore each intern’s unique gift set and apply those gifts to serve in the best place according to our various activities in our GLCC and G2A programs.
We believe in a roll of your sleeves, hands dirty, and put on your boots service mindset.
Participants will learn how to apply biblical concepts and theology into real work action and transformation, promoting the full Gospel of Jesus through our healing, teaching, and preaching programs. Additionally, you will learn how to swing a hammer, use a chainsaw and build with the resources God provides.
