In the past year, many changes have been implemented for this church of God as they continue to grow.
“When the princes in Israel take the lead, when the people willingly offer themselves– praise the LORD!” Judges 5:2
The year 2017 was a time of change for the Hong Kong Church, as we welcomed the new leadership of Godwin and Crystal Chan. For the past 10 years, Steve and Jane Chin have faithfully served as the lead couple for the Hong Kong Church and have brought about victory after victories for the Lord. This year, after months of discussions, prayers and fasting, the evangelists and elders couples have selected Godwin and Crystal Chan to be our Lead Evangelist and Woman Ministry Leader.
Godwin and Crystal have served the church for more than 27 years. They have raised up many young leaders in the Hong Kong Church. Their two children were also baptized disciples and both of them are committed members in the campus and teens ministries. We have great trust in them and we are sure the Lord will lead us to even greater glory through their leadership.
“Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:8
This year, we have lost our beloved brothers Scott Green and Peter So. Both of them were on the original Hong Kong mission team. They are our heroes of faith and we truly admire and are grateful for their faithfulness and convictions. They kept their faith, ran the full race, fought the good fights for God, and set inspiring examples for all of us to follow.
As courageous cancer fighters, they kept their joy, and had been pouring all out for the Gospel like they did for Christ from the very beginning. We treasured their friendship and companionship in our walks of life and will try our best to follow their examples in persevering love of God and the Mission.
