Future generations will be told about the Lord. They will proclaim his righteousness, declaring to a people yet unborn: He has done it! – Psalm 22:30-31 NIV

Never in the history of earth have people enjoyed so many accessible avenues of communication. The question is, what will we do with this great treasure?

During the ICOC3.0 process, in 2017 the ICOC Delegates voted to significantly improve communications across the ICOC. One of the first results of this mandate was the selection of Regional Communications Directors (RCDs) to represent each of our regional family of churches. Their job descriptions are detailed here.

Since June 2018, this team has met for quarterly conference calls to share news, updates and best practices for gathering and improving communications in their part of the world. The RCDs are responsible for the following:

  • Communicate news from their region to the worldwide fellowship
  • Communicate ICOC-wide news to their region
  • Communicate ICOC leadership news across the leadership of their region

As part of these responsibilities, the RCDs are tasked with contributing at least one article and one video per month from their regional family for publishing on Disciples Today. Many of them share frequent good news on the International Churches of Christ Facebook group. Some of their current tasks include implementing the ICOC icon on websites and social media within their regional family, and communicating global updates like the ICOC Catalyst Team and the launch of registration for the 2020 World Discipleship Summit.
