Disciples Today is very excited to announce that Lai-Yan Faller has been promoted to serve as the Editor of DisciplesToday.org. God certainly prepared her for such a time as this.

As the only baby on the Hong Kong mission team in 1987, Lai-Yan spent her first years with her parents Tak-Sing and Teresa Tang planting our church in Hong Kong that has now grown to over 2,000 members and planted dozens of churches in mainland China. Tak-Sing and Teresa met in the Crossroads Church in Gainesville, Florida.

In 1991 the family moved back to Florida and enjoyed many years in the South Florida Church of Christ. In 2004 Lai-Yan was off to Boston College, where she graduated with honors with an English degree and an Asian-American studies minor while serving as an editor for the university newspaper and then as a campus ministry intern. Upon graduating, she worked full-time for the campus ministry of the Boston Church of Christ.

Furthering her adventurous spirit, Lai-Yan joined the church planting in Portland, Maine in 2011 and continues to be an integral part of that church along with her husband Jesse Faller and their two boys Judah and Rocky.

In 2013 I received a call from Lai-Yan expressing a desire to serve disciples around the world through DisciplesToday.org. She first served as a volunteer and then as a part-time Associate Editor. It soon became obvious that God blessed Lai-Yan with many talents and a huge heart to match with the discipline to accomplish any task presented her. She was advanced to Assistant Editor in 2015 where she demonstrated great ability to train other volunteers and Associate Editors.

Currently the DisciplesToday.org Editor responsibilities include publishing and maintaining the official website, Facebook pages for the International Churches of Christ, the ICOC Church Locator, the official ICOC leadership website, the Disciples Today eNews letter to over 30,000 emails and many more crucial tasks. She also serves as the Assistant Coordinator for the global Regional Communications Directors and as the Regional Communications Director for the ICOCNew England churches.

I constantly thank God for Lai-Yan and her wonderful parents, husband, children and church family. She is a delightful person, incredibly capable and wise beyond her years with a humble heart of a devoted servant. Truly it is a joy to see her fulfill this verse:

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” – 2 Timothy 2:2

Please congratulate Lai-Yan and send your stories to her at: [email protected].
