“For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” – Psalms 100:5 (NIV)

On the 4th of August, Delhi Church celebrated it’s much awaited 30th Anniversary. The theme was “God’s Faithfulness”. The months leading up to these celebrations, was abuzz with much preparation. It was a celebration of God’s faithfulness. In response to that, as a church, we all recommitted ourselves to remain faithful to him, until we cross the finishing line. It was an incredible victory with over 900 attending this very special event. Many friends who once were part of the church came back to join in the celebrations.

One of the highlight of the day was a dance routine that incorporated many dance styles from the Northern States of India. The congregation loved the representation of the diversity existing within the church, through this dance.

The worship through songs lifted the spirit of the congregation. The audio-visual presentation consisted of a montage of memories from the past. Everyone got glimpses of many special times the church had been through. It also helped people revive their mission purpose by remembering the eight mission teams (Nepal, Kolkata, Bangladesh, Ranchi, Guwahati, Odisa, Imphal, Gurgoan) that were sent out from Delhi in the past. The revival was given a boost when Prakash and Joyce D’sa prayed over the new mission team being sent to Sikkim. It was fitting that the mission team to Sikkim be sent off during such a celebration.

Ian Correa, one of the original mission team members to Delhi in 1989, shared a very moving communion message. The sermon was delivered by Jacob Kuruvilla, who along with his whole family, had traveled from Dubai to join the celebrations. His sermon was like a fan that flamed the fireback into our hearts!

It was an incredible day and the fellowship we experienced put so much hope and excitement back into our hearts. We are praying for people to come back, for new people to receive Christ and for the hearts of the disciples to be refreshed and renewed as we run the race into the decades ahead, relying on God’s unfailing faithfulness. God bless everyone. Keep us in your prayers.
