Papua New Guinea is a country of over eight million people located just north of Australia in the Pacific Ocean. It is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world, with over 850 known languages – quite a task to get the gospel message out across the nation! The Highlands of Papua New Guinea are truly the “ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8), one of the most remote places on the planet.

We currently have three churches in Papua New Guinea: one in the capital city of Port Moresby, and two smaller churches in the Highlands. Felix and Ashley Tokwepota lead the church in Port Moresby and oversee the work throughout the country. They are young leaders (Felix 30, Ashley 28) stepping out on faith and doing amazing things for God! Here is a video showing some of the work we’ve done there.

The Port Moresby Church of Christ recently hosted about 15 brothers and sisters from around the South Pacific and Australia Region for the South Pacific Mission Corps in July 2018. Their goal was to advance the Kingdom, share their faith, strengthen the church, and volunteer in two local projects (restoring the University of Papua New Guinea’s bathrooms, and building a primary school library in Morata). The SPA Mission Corps was a huge success, as the church of about 60 members has over 30 Bible studies happening right now!

The Port Moresby Church of Christ also hosted a Teen Rally during that time. There are only two teen disciples in the church, but 150 people came to the Teen Rally, and there are many Bible studies as a result! The harvest is truly plentiful, but the workers are few!

Please pray for the work in the South Pacific. God has been working in incredible ways, but there is still much to do!
