As disciples of Jesus, we recognize that each soul saved sends shock waves into the eternal realms. This holds true in the Antelope Valley Church where God’s saving power is transforming families. One of which, is the Perez family.

Less than one year ago, Manuel “Manny” Perez IV, began studying the bible as a college student at Antelope Valley Community College. He was taking courses in preparation to be a fireman and save souls from fires. Yet, as he studied the word, he would eventually find his own salvation in Christ Jesus. Manny IV was baptized on October 16, 2016. Shortly afterward, he became one of the guitarists for the worship team where he continues to bless the congregation with his musical talent and sincere heart of servitude.

Shortly thereafter, Manny’s teenage sister Angelina started coming around. Often times, she was found serving God’s people whether around the music ministry, raising funds for missions and other acts of service. Angelina would eventually get baptized on June 25, 2017.

Erika, their mother, began to be stirred by God’s word. After hearing a Sunday sermon, Erika diligently pursued her relationship with the Lord by opening up her schedule to study the Bible and take bold leaps of faith. She was baptized on August 6, 2017. Then Manuel Perez III was moved to study the word. Having heard Manny IV and Angelina’s testimonies of faith and after witnessing the memorial service of a dear family friend, he eagerly wanted to know the significance of baptism. Manuel Perez III would find the answer on August 20, 2017 when he was baptized in Christ. In spiritual warfare, the battle for all family members to be united under God can often be a long war. Yet, for the exceptional Perez family, God’s amazing power, love and grace united them in less than one year’s time! For this reason, we honor God with Paul’s words of exhortation and praise, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” — Ephesians 3:20-21 (NIV)
