The Greater Philadelphia Church of Christ is excited to announce the recognition of Sara Saltos, our 25-year old single sister, as a women’s ministry leader, becoming one of our family of churches’ youngest women in this role. Though young, Sara has more than earned this honor through her hard work in Philadelphia. Sara has helped lead the Youth & Family Ministry for nearly four years alongside other interns and under the shepherding of Audie and Bethany Monday. Her partnership with the staff has become one the staff relies on. A true embodiment of 2 Timothy 2:2, Sara is a reliable woman who is qualified to teach others.
Sara grew up in the New Jersey Region of the New York City Church of Christ and has been a disciple for 11 years. Her love for ministry grew in her teen years as she partnered with her peers and teen leaders. She went to college at Virginia Tech to pursue ministry training. Though there were many ups and downs in those seasons, the dots of her journey started to connect after returning home to be a volunteer teen leader and later working for Hope for Kids as a camp director, where she connected with the Mondays. Over the past four years, God has worked through Sara to save many souls, strengthen the faith of those in her charge, and raise up the next generation. She has even directed teen camp in Nepal!
God has moved powerfully through Sara and her journey. She is an example to all of us that God can do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine in our lives if we willingly step out on faith. Regardless of age, gender, or marital status, God has great plans for us to change the world.
