RevivEE 2.0 comes to a conclusion!
We have come in for a landing and officially closed RevivEE 2.0!
A year ago, today we started to submit our documents to Croatia well within the eight weeks needed to process our documents to launch on time in September. Well into August we still had no documents. Now scrambling to find a country to land our six-nation team, we were weeks away from launch with no destination.
After prayer and fasting, it seemed Moldova was the best option to stay temporarily as we wait for Croatia to open. RevivEE started to pour itself into the Chișinău church and God started to create a beautiful story. COVID was rampant – hospitals full – all public meeting spaces were closed off without vaccination. So, we hunkered down in our hotel Muncii as it had all the meeting space we needed.
As our 90-day window to wait in Moldova seemed to be closing we scrambled to get our documents for Moldova.
We set off for Christmas vacation on the 20 th of December sure that on the 22nd our documents would be approved. With much of our stuff left behind, we received the news that we were rejected and could not return to Chisinau for 90 days.
With this new reality, we came together after the holidays in Odessa, unable to re-enter Moldova. We spent two weeks in Odessa, and because of a third warning from the embassy of an imminent war we took the team on to Istanbul.
We appealed our document decision and resubmitted only to find out the day before the final decision we were going to be rejected. That evening at 9:00 pm Slava Lisnik met a man by his garage, whose wife the next day was able in one hour to get all 32 documents approved.
Within a few days, we were boarding our flight to Chisinau back home to Muncii as February began.
Three weeks later Russia invaded the Ukraine and within hours hundreds of our Revivee 1.0 Odessa relationships were pouring into our Muncii home. Within hours, we became the Center of HOPE Chisinau for our Ukrainian family.
The war is 100 days old now and we have provided 10,000+ meals and 1,000+ of nights in warm beds.
Four months have passed, and God has allowed us to witness practically weekly baptisms since we returned (pictured below).
The Chisinau church has changed us forever and we are prayerful and hopeful that our time has changed the Chișinău church forever.
This RevivEE team has changed our hearts and our mind. It has strengthened our faith and taught us so much about our loving Father and our Lord Jesus.
I think of this verse as I think about all the RevivEE teams have been through:
In all this, you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire —may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. – 1 Peter 1:6-7 (NIV)
We have suffered through all kinds of trials, but it has proven the faith to be genuine! Thank you, God, for the honor and privilege to be called to serve you. We thank God for our ICOC family that has supported us and all the work for the Ukraine at this hour! Thank you for your prayers! Please continue to join us almost every day at 2:00pm EDT at my Facebook page. Consider signing up for RevivEE 4.0! Registration will open on September 1, 2022. Please consider supporting our RevivEE 3.0 team, as we prepare to launch September 1, 2022! You can contribute via GoFundMe.
Thanks for all the support and for praying for peace for the Ukraine! Love, Shawn, and Lena Wooten.
