The Great Land Christian Church (GLCC) offers an exciting Ministry Apprenticeship Program (M.A.P.), designed for volunteers, part-time, and full-time interns eager to grow in faith, leadership, and practical skills. Located amidst Alaska’s breathtaking landscapes—majestic mountains, glaciers, fjords, and more—this program provides a unique opportunity to combine spiritual growth with hands-on ministry experience.
Program Overview:
The GLCC M.A.P. equips participants with real-world ministry training, servant leadership skills, nonprofit operations knowledge, and life skills. Interns serve in diverse roles, from leading agricultural camps and wilderness trips to urban outreach in Anchorage. Opportunities are tailored to each participant’s skills and interests, fostering growth in ministry and community impact.

Interns gain experience by:
- Supporting GLCC leadership, church groups, and the board.
- Engaging in outreach programs through Gateway to the Arctic Camp (G2A), a 100-acre retreat featuring a farm, lodge, cabins, and trails.
- Leading community programs focused on construction, agriculture, sustainability, and bushcraft.
- Developing skills in retreat planning, nonprofit programming, and spiritual disciplines.
Hands-On Ministry:
GLCC emphasizes servant leadership and a hands-on approach, teaching biblical principles alongside practical skills like carpentry and resourcefulness. Interns will be mentored by mature leaders and involved in meaningful activities that promote spiritual and personal growth.
