Last month, architect and New York City Church of Christ member, Rick Cook, was recognized in Manhattan Magazine for his earth-friendly impact on the New York City skyline. Rick, and his company CookFox Architects, designed Manhattan’s fourth tallest building, the Bank of America Tower, NYC’s first LEED Platinum-Certified commercial skyscraper. Rick, and his wife Ellen, were baptized in January 1998 and became an adoptive family through Hope for Kids in January 2002. Their sons, John and David, were born in Pursat, Cambodia. Rick is a man of deep faith and conviction whose work is prompted by the fact that “The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.” (Gen 2:15). In a 2006 interview, Rick was asked what heroes have influenced his work. He shared, “On a purely personal level, my biggest influence is the Biblical account of the life and actions of Jesus Christ.” Read the Manhattan Magazine article >
