In 2019 the Western Elder’s Conference will be hosted by the Dallas/Ft Worth Church from Thursday, March 28 through Sunday, March 31.
This conference began in 2007 as the Southwest Elder’s Retreat with just 12 couples in attendance. Over the following years, we have seen God move as the numbers grew continually with an increasing number of elders and their wives attending from outside the Southwest Region of churches. In an effort to be more inclusive the name of the conference was changed to the Western Elder’s Conference. In 2018 the conference was hosted by the Toronto Church of Christ with 76 couples attending, our largest attendance to date. In addition to the US and Canada, we have attendees from Manila, Philippines, and Seoul, South Korea.
This conference provides ongoing teaching and training to strengthen and encourage the brothers who bear the great responsibility of shepherding the Lord’s church. Classes are also provided for the wives of elders, who also carry a great weight of responsibility that must be recognized and addressed to meet needs in the unique and vital role these amazing women fill.
There is also plenty of time built into the conference for fun and fellowship, and for building and strengthening relationships between elders and their churches.
