The planning team for the 2025 North American Church Builders Teachers Conference invites teachers and aspiring teachers to submit proposals for breakout classes. This year’s conference, “Understanding the Times: Faithful Readings in a Complex World,” will bring together voices and vision from across our churches to explore how to faithfully teach and live God’s word in a rapidly changing world.
In an age of stormy waters and shifting tides, the church needs steady hands on the wheel—teachers who read the skies, study the charts, and help guide the vessel toward Christ. Like the tribe of Issachar, who “understood the times and knew what Israel should do” (1 Chronicles 12:32), participants are called not only to interpret Scripture but to lead others in living – faithfully, courageously, and communally.
Breakout session themes
Each of the three breakout sessions will feature four classes focused on the following themes:
- Faithful and Gracious Hermeneutics in a Pluralistic World
- Unity and Dialogue in the Faith Community
- Spiritual Formation and Function
Creative and thoughtful proposals that stretch beyond these themes are also welcome. The goal is to cultivate a wide range of perspectives that equip and inspire.
Proposal guidelines
Submissions should include:
- A class abstract (maximum 200 words)
- The presenter’s current congregation, ministry context, and teaching role
- (Optional) Any media, format, or creative approach to be used
Deadline for submissions: June 22, 2025
Submit proposals to: [email protected].
Proposals will be reviewed by the conference planning team. We look forward to the insights and gifts that will shape this gathering of faithful guides.
