
Capital Collective Church (CCCDC) is a growing church community, located in Washington, DC and seeks a lead minister. Established in 2022 as a church planting by the Capital Rivers Church (CRC), our congregation includes young professionals, college students, families, and a few married couples. We are committed to the faithful teaching of Scripture, fostering meaningful community, and thoughtful engagement with our city.
Position Overview
CCCDC is seeking one experienced lead minister to shepherd our congregation and provide spiritual, pastoral, and organizational leadership. This role requires spiritual depth, relational wisdom, and practical leadership skills, and will be carried out in close collaboration with our core team and partner leadership at CRC.
Responsibilities
Collaboration and leadership
- Lead the church in collaboration with the CCCDC core team and the CRC leadership.
- Actively seek input, feedback, and accountability from the core team and CRC leadership.
- Mentor and equip emerging leaders and small-group leaders within the congregation.
- Collaborate with the CRC board to help manage and administer church finances and organizational matters.
Worship Services and Teaching
- Coordinate with the preaching team to deliver regular sermons rooted in Scripture, drawing on historical and contextual theological sources.
- Work with the worship team to plan and organize weekly services that are thoughtful, engaging, and spiritually formative.
- Oversee and support a teaching team focused on sound doctrine, spiritual formation, evangelism, and discipleship.
Congregational Care
- Provide pastoral care and spiritual support to the members of the congregation.
- Encourage healthy community life through discipleship, prayer, and personal connection.
- Help cultivate a culture of care, hospitality, and mutual support within the church.
Community Engagement
- Build collaborative relationships with local nonprofit organizations and faith communities.
- Encourage thoughtful and faithful engagement with the broader DC community.
Qualifications
- Ministry Experience: Minimum of five years of full-time ministry experience, including leadership responsibility.
- Leadership: Strong leadership, relational, and community-building skills.
- Teaching and Preaching: Demonstrated ability to teach and preach Scripture clearly and faithfully, with a commitment to ongoing growth and feedback.
- Biblical Knowledge: Strong understanding of biblical doctrine and its application in contemporary contexts.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work humbly and effectively within a leadership team.
- Personal Character: Demonstrated commitment to personal spiritual formation, integrity to the Word of God, humility, and transparency.
- Growth Experience: Experience, or developing experience, in helping a ministry grow in both spiritual maturity and participation.
