We seek to hire a full-time ministry couple to lead the thriving campus ministry at Greater Long Beach Church (GLB). This role would also have a growth opportunity to evolve into an associate minister’s role with added responsibility.
A great campus and a great team
GLB Church is part of the Coastal Region of the Los Angeles Church and has been one of the pillar campus ministries in the LA Church. We are a diverse mix of seasoned and young disciples as well as incredibly multicultural. The schools represented in Long Beach include Cal State Long Beach University (one of the top universities in the Cal State system), Long Beach City College, and Cerritos College, with a total student population of over 75,000.
GLB is blessed with a great leadership team which includes three elder couples, evangelist/WML, and deacons. We believe in a very collaborative team leadership. The college ministry currently has over 40 students while the GLB Church has almost 300 members.
We are looking for someone willing to be part of a developing staff leadership team, pursuing spiritual and character growth, is passionate about inspiring and mentoring the next generation, has a self-starting disposition, and is open to what God will do through us to connect in the surrounding community. Applicants with two to three years of secular work experience or ministry leadership experience are preferable.
A great location
Long Beach is a beautifully diverse city in Los Angeles County and the 7th largest city in California. It is close to the beach and located close between Los Angeles and Orange County. Not only would you be part of the healthy and diverse leadership team in Greater Long Beach Church, but also part of the larger Coastal LA Region staff, and part of the LA Church campus ministers group for ongoing training in campus ministry. Also, opportunities for training with the West Coast School of Missions or other continual education opportunities can be available.
