It has been amazing to see God working and building momentum over the past few years, with 2024 being another huge step forward in building God’s kingdom, for the present and future, through our campus ministries. There is much to be done, but it is clearly evident that God has heard our prayer to “show us his glory” and his Spirit is moving in an exciting way. 

The most prevalent is the steady increase of people becoming disciples and steady decrease in those walking away in our US campus ministries. This has been a challenge since 2020, with the total number of disciples not increasing due to having more members graduate than come in. To God’s glory, we finally saw a breakthrough in that as well and ended the year with 127 more total disciples than we started the year! We are seeing more people baptized and much fewer walking away than in past years.

Each number represents a soul that God created, loves and Jesus died for. And so we are grateful to see God blessing our efforts to please him in this way. Our hope and faith is that this is just the beginning of something greater than we could ask for or imagine that God has planned to do. Another encouraging piece of the picture is that this is all with about the same number of full-time campus ministers over these years, which shows the engagement of more students and student leaders as well as refining maturing, experience and effectiveness of the ministers we have. It’s also been amazing to see some of our smaller ministries under 10 grow into the teens and 20’s.

Each US Regional Family has appointed leadership on the team who work together to influence all of our collective ministries. In 2024 Josephus & Katrina Bartuah (Boston, MA) joined for New England, as well as Kyle Plum (San Diego, CA), for the Southwest. This past month (Feb 2025) we had our annual in-person meetings to plan ICMC 2025 as well as connecting and growing together. See full list of our Service Team members here.

We continue to enjoy a refreshing partnership as a team, with a shared spirit of unity, mutual respect, love and camaraderie to do something great for God. Our focus and goal as a committee is to inspire, train and unify our campus ministries by bringing this same culture and convictions to the ministers and ministries in our respective regions.

2024’s focus was “Glory.” In January we had an all-US campus ministers Zoom meeting with a compelling lesson by Glenn Petruzzi on “The Glory of God.” It set the tone for us to make the year, and all that we do by and for God’s glory, not our own. 

As we met for ICMC in the beautiful mountains of Asheville NC, we aimed to direct the disciple’s hearts, minds and souls on the glory of God. We were greatly encouraged to see almost 1700 in attendance. Main session sermons called us to “See God’s Glory,” “Reflect God’s Glory,” “Glorify him in the Church” and “Bring his Glory to the World,” while breakout classes covered topics ranging from holiness and discipling to mental health and aspiring to leadership. The Minister’s track had an incredible spirit of faith and centered around the call to “Breakthrough Leadership” where we heard from many younger, new campus ministers who have seen their smaller group grow exceptionally in the past year.

ICMC 2025 will be hosted in LA from July 31-Aug 3, with the theme “Proclaim,” inspired by the book of Colossians’ call that “it is him we proclaim.” Sunday will be joined with the entire LA church to worship God together. We cannot wait to see how God moves as the anticipation and eagerness around this conference is already tremendous!

For 2025, please be praying for and promoting our 2025 ICMC in LA as well as the other ICMC’s happening around the world. Along with ICMC, pray that the Spirit would multiply the momentum and depth we are seeing built in our US campus ministries. We have active Bible Talks and clubs at 225 colleges and universities across the country and 152 campus ministries. Pray that each would grow deeper in their love for God, gratitude for his grace and zeal to proclaim his name.
