BiblicalParenting.net is a free resource that assists parents in aligning their parenting with Biblical instruction and guidance. The intent of BiblicalParenting.net is to connect parents with foundational biblical instruction, as well as to provide vetted and reliable resources to assist them in their parenting journey. We also host ongoing free parenting classes twice a month; the first class each month expands on the lesson material and the second class places parents into encouragement groups based on the age of their children. These groups provide a safe space for parents to collaborate and to receive guidance specific to their parenting stage.

We believe that the Bible can actually be viewed as an account of God’s parenting of us, first through a more authoritative stage with the fledgling Israelite community and beautifully culminating in the friendship phase. But God’s instructions, wisdom and knowledge are also compared to hidden treasures that require effort to uncover. Our prayer is that BiblicalParenting.net will help parents discover those hidden treasures, create a safe and supportive community for parents to process their journey, and ultimately foster fully functional, relationally-healed families that can become pillars in the Christian community.

About us

Tami and I moved from Los Angeles to Dallas / Fort Worth in 2003 with a three-year-old and a six-month-old.  Not long after, we realized that the authoritative approach we had been using was falling short. Soon after, Tami was invited to attend a parenting course hosted by a local church and that began our journey. We liked the approach of this course because it was rooted in two truths: the Bible has all the answers for parents to be successful, and God’s way is always more beautiful than anything the world has to offer. If parents can learn to present the “beauty behind the rule,” then their children can fall in love with God’s character and be motivated by the beauty of morality rather than consequences and prohibition. A few years later, Tami and I decided to begin facilitating courses in our home church in DFW and the ministry grew from there. Tami and I now serve in the ministry in DFW and oversee family ministry throughout the church.
