The Pioneer Valley Church seeks to hire part-time summer interns (20 hours/week) to serve in the youth and family ministry, for our eight-week summer internship from June 14 to August 9.

Ideally, we’ll have a team of two men and two women eager to serve, learn, grow, and work with youth. Our ministry includes over 40 teens, their families and some pre-teens who will periodically participate.

We have a deep desire to mentor and train not only the youth in our ministry but also to raise up new young leaders for the kingdom. This is an opportunity for anyone who aspires to spend their summer making an impact for Jesus, to one day be a volunteer leader in the youth and family ministry or to discover if ministry life is worth exploring.

Interns will get direct training from ministry staff – evangelists, campus, YF, and elders – on the practicals and spiritual work of ministry, including attending staff meetings and direct weekly trainings as a group. 

Qualities needed

The ideal person will have:

  • A compassionate heart for teenagers and their families
  • Like to have fun 
  • Enjoy the challenge of new things
  • Be willing to learn and be trained in ministry.

Requirements 

We’re looking for:

  • A disciple in good standing in their home church within the ICOC, and have an exemplary walk with God.
  • Aged 18-23, in campus ministry or at least one year out of high school.
  • A current active driver’s license, clean driving record, and a car safe enough to drive teens.
  • The recommendation of your current ministry leader, and a person active in your life (discipling partner, or d-group leader). 
  • Must be able to stay for the whole duration of the internship (all interns will have an exemption to be able to attend ICMC).

This will be a paid internship to ensure that the youth and family ministry will be the main focus over these eight weeks. Each intern will also receive a monthly reimbursable expense budget. The deadline for applications is April 28.
