For many years the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo has been threatened by armed groups. Since October 29 of this year, M23 rebels have taken control of Kiwanja and Rutshuru-Centre, two large strategic cities in North Kivu province, located about 40 kilometers from the city of Goma in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Thousands of people have been dislocated due to this situation, causing the loss of human life, insecurity, and fear, and many other cities are affected.
In Lubumbashi church, for example, the husband of one of our sisters, who is a soldier, was sent to the battlefield while the sister is pregnant. In Kinshasa, several family members of our brothers and sisters living in the countryside are in war zones.
The Kinshasa church is asking for prayer support for the people in the conflict zones, for the families of the disciples who are there, and for the whole country. May peace and calm be restored and may the Lord spare the country from a situation of perpetrated war.
