The Ocean State Church of Christ in Providence, Rhode Island, is seeking a lead evangelist and women’s ministry leader with recent success in growing a healthy group of disciples. We strongly believe in a unified, collaborative approach to church leadership and we have a dedicated leadership team that supports these roles.
The Ocean State Church is a diverse congregation with members of various backgrounds, ages, and walks of life. In 2024, we celebrated our 10th anniversary and, by God’s grace, the congregation now has over 100 members. We have a large group of young families for a church our size. The candidates would have a passion for investing and growing campus and professionals ministries, as well as our families with young children. We are seeking a couple with strong teaching skills, empathetic leadership, servant hearts, and deep convictions. The ideal couple will demonstrate emotional self-awareness and the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
Though sometimes forgotten as the smallest state, Rhode Island boasts a breathtaking coastline, a food scene inspired by the culinary arts of Johnson & Wales, and a unique capital city of Providence, also recognized as the nation’s “Creative Capital.” Rhode Island’s gorgeous Waterfire and the Gilded Age mansions of Newport are just a couple of the sights to take in when you live in this extraordinary state. We have 13 colleges across the state, including Brown University.
As the southernmost state of New England, we are within 45 minutes of Boston, MA, and a driving distance from Hartford, CT, and NYC. Many people who work in nearby major cities reside in Rhode Island because of its affordability. With so many sister churches nearby, it’s easy to connect with fellow disciples across state lines.
