Our Rocky Mountain School of Ministry and Theology has as its global mission to provide followers of Jesus with an excellent, accessible, and transformative graduate biblical education in ministry, counseling, and theology, by equipping our students to live, love, and lead like Jesus and to train others to be faithful servant-leaders in Christ’s church. We also provide the opportunity for anyone to simply audit courses to vibrantly enrich their walk with Christ in a transformative manner.

We are offering the following courses:
1. AP600 Christian Apologetics with Dr. Douglas Jacoby (August 25):
An introduction to Christian evidence, from the existence of God to biblical archaeology to the Problem of Suffering. Learn how to construct convincing presentations for unbelievers and make apologetics a part of your ministry. This class teaches principles of defending and promoting the Christian faith.
2. CM601 Biblical Homiletics, with Dr. G. Steve Kinnard. (August 25):
This course is designed to provide the student with the skills necessary to preach relevant, biblical sermons. Attention is given to the homiletical method, biblical and theological content, the contemporary context, and creative methodology. Students will examine contemporary thinking, current preachers, and possible approaches to preaching to the contemporary listener.
3. GB501 Introduction to the Bible with Dr. Trevor Cochell (August 25):
This course studies the metanarrative of the Bible as it is developed in the Old and New Testaments.
4. NT631/NT731 Greek/English Exegesis course on Mark with Dr. G. Steve Kinnard (August 25):
An exegetical study of the Gospel of Mark in the Greek text with attention to the theological themes, structure, historical setting, its relationships to the other Gospels, and interpretation of selected portions. NT 610 is a prerequisite for the Hebrew Exegesis section, NT731, but not a requirement for the English Exegesis section, NT631.
5. OT600 Introduction to the Old Testament with Dr. Trevor Cochell (August 25):
This course surveys the contents and backgrounds of all the books of the Christian Old Testament.
6. OT610 Biblical Hebrew Basics with Rolan Monje and Dr. Trevor Cochell (August 25):
(For credit only, not for audit). This course consists of an introduction to the basic principles of OT Hebrew.
7. PC610/CM610 The Biblical Foundations and Practice of Christian Family Ministry with Dr. Michael Shapiro (August 25):
This course explores the biblical, spiritual, and theological foundations of “family” in modern Christian ministry. The student will explore God’s ideal for family, contrasting with contemporary problems related to the family environment. The information gleaned from this class will help the minister or ministry candidate understand the myriad of psychological and worldly influences that could either harm or edify the families in their respective congregations, thereby enabling them to build stronger families—their own, as well as those in their churches.
8. PC645/CCC7 Christian Sexuality Counseling, Dr. Jennifer Konzen (September 23):
This course is an introduction to Human Sexuality and will provide counseling students with an overview of human sexuality that will be examined through several different lenses (spiritual, personal, historical, cultural, and public health) and will focus on helping students integrate the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social aspects of sexuality.
9. SF602/CSF2 The Theology of Christian Spirituality with Dr. G. Steve Kinnard (August 25):
This course will explore some of the fundamental theological concepts of Christian spirituality. We will explore how Jesus is formed in a person. We will explore: How do we break free of sin? How do new spiritual habits become part of our lives as Christians? What is the role of the heart in Christian transformation? What is the role of the Holy Spirit in Christian transformation? How do we live in this earthly body and be spiritual people? The course includes a thorough exegesis of Romans 8 and Romans 12. Also, each student will be asked to explore the work of one major spiritual author to see how he or she develops theological themes in his or her writings.
10. For Audit Only: SF680/CT680/CM680/CSF7 The Theology and Practice of Biblical Discipleship in the Age of the Reign of God with Dr. Glenn Giles. (Begins Aug 25):
Also Called New, Safe, Discipleship: FLAN JOY. Cost $50. Maximum of eight students. Auditors will be trained on Zoom weekly with Dr. Glenn Giles.
This course focuses on the theology and practice of biblical discipleship, including a study of discipleship in the New Testament, discipleship to Jesus, and relationship as a theological center of the Bible. It also includes practical skills in two-way experiential relationship with God and one another, skills for thriving discipleship maturity, skills in experiencing joy with God and one another, skills in being in step with the Holy Spirit and his leading, and skills in joining with God to create a gentle, kind, humble, loving, safe, hesed community in Christ.
11. CT611.1 Introduction to Christian Theology (CT611 Introducción a la Teología Cristiana) taught by Dr. Giles and Arturo Elizarraras (begins August 25):
This course surveys Christian theology and doctrine in the Bible both from historical perspective as well as a systematic perspective in Spanish (Este curso ofrece un panorama a la teología y la doctrina cristiana en la Bibli desde las perspectivas histórica y sistemática).
