The Savannah Church of Christ is a small, growing family of nearly 60 disciples who are committed to following Jesus, growing spiritually, and helping others become disciples. We are a church family with a deep desire to strengthen our faith, develop our members, and become increasingly effective in sharing the Gospel with our community.

We are seeking an evangelist and women’s ministry leader who will help lead and equip our congregation in fulfilling the mission Jesus has given his church.

The primary focus of the evangelist role will be to preach and teach the Gospel, encourage the congregation, and equip members for works of service (Ephesians 4:11–12). We are looking for someone who will not simply do ministry for the church, but who will invest in people—helping men and women discover and develop their God-given gifts and preparing them to serve and lead (1 Peter 4:10–11).

The evangelist and women’s ministry leader will work with a small group of church ministry leaders.

  • Faithfully preach and teach the Gospel and help the church grow in its understanding and application of God’s Word (2 Timothy 4:1–2; Acts 20:27).
  • Encourage spiritual growth, discipleship, prayer, and a deeper relationship with Christ (Colossians 2:6–7; 1 Thessalonians 5:11, 17).
  • Equip and disciple reliable men and women who can serve, lead, and help carry out the work of the church (2 Timothy 2:2).
  • Help members identify and use their spiritual gifts for the building up of God’s church (Romans 12:4–8; 1 Corinthians 12:4–7).
  • Develop and strengthen ministries that serve the congregation and reach our community (Matthew 28:19–20).
  • Encourage a culture of disciple-making, where every member is challenged and equipped to help others follow Jesus (Matthew 28:19–20; 2 Timothy 2:2).
  • Lead the church’s work with our existing leadership in a unified effort to strengthen the church and provide healthy spiritual direction and vision (Ephesians 4:1–3; 1 Corinthians 1:10).
  • Help prepare the Savannah Church of Christ for continued spiritual growth and greater effectiveness in its mission (Ephesians 4:12–16).

Our hope is to find spiritual leaders who will love and invest deeply in our church family, faithfully preach the Gospel, and equip every member to use their God-given gifts in service to God and others (1 Peter 5:2–3; Ephesians 4:15–16). We have a strong desire to reach the next generation. Savannah and the surrounding area have multiple nationally recognized Colleges and Universities to include Georgia Southern, Savannah State, Savannah Tech, USC-Beaufort, and Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), considered by many to be the nation’s premier university of its kind.

The Savannah church has members in Savannah and the surrounding suburbs, including two cities in South Carolina: Bluffton and Hilton Head Island. Though small, our church is multigenerational with strong disciples at every age and stage: active older adults, families with teens and young children, young professionals and campus students.

The City of Savannah, Georgia is a charming Southern escape with historic architecture set under a veil of Spanish moss. Savannah’s beauty is rivaled only by the city’s reputation for hospitality. Both Savannah and Hilton Head Island are among the country’s most popular vacation spots. Savannah is a beautiful city, with great weather, mild winters, and a low cost of living.  We are home to some of the country’s most beautiful beaches.

Experience: We are seeking a ministry couple with at least five years of experience serving in full-time ministry. Previous church leadership experience is preferred. We value humility, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to continued spiritual and ministry growth.
