From June 12–15, 2025, the serene island of Bali became the gathering point for a powerful spiritual movement. Over 3,500 disciples from 27 nations – including Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, India, Australia, the USA, and beyond – united at the Asian Leadership Conference (ALC) and Asian Discipleship Summit (ADS) 2025, under the bold theme: SHIFT.
This year’s summit held special significance as it also commemorated the 35th anniversary of GKDI (Gereja Kristus di Indonesia). What began as a local church movement decades ago has now become a global family of disciples committed to God’s mission.
The conference opened with a spectacular ceremony filled with lights, music, and joy that set the tone for a weekend of transformation. Participants attended a series of inspiring classes – from Shifting Perspectives and Shifting Strategies to Shifting Identities – each one equipping and challenging hearts to embrace God’s direction in an ever-changing world.
Adding to the spiritual depth and joy of the event were the praise and worship sessions, which shook the room with passion and power, bringing both the young and the old to their feet in joyful dancing and heartfelt singing. The atmosphere was electric, overflowing with the Spirit.
A dedicated youth program, the uplifting HOPE Fun Run, and a deeply moving baptism ceremony on the final day added even more momentum. It was clear that SHIFT 2025 was more than an event; it was a Spirit-led movement that rekindled vision and passion across generations and borders.
On the official event website, Pastor Harliem and Vania Saliem shared an opening message: “This year’s theme, SHIFT, calls us to embrace change not by our strength, but by his Spirit… Let this conference be a time of realignment—where vision is rekindled, hearts are renewed, callings are clarified, and unity in Christ is strengthened.”
Their closing message encouraged disciples everywhere: “SHIFT is now a personal calling… As we return to our cities and nations, let’s carry the flame of ALC/ADS 2025 to spark revival in our homes, churches, and communities. This is not the end, but the beginning of a movement.” SHIFT 2025 has ended, but the fire continues to burn.
