The Women of Valor retreat, held August 28–30, 2026, brought together 80 sisters and their guests. The three-day event was not simply another church activity; it was an opportunity to experience meaningful fellowship and draw closer to Christ.
It was a beautiful time of bonding, learning, relaxation, fun, and spiritual encouragement. We learned about health and finances, but more importantly, we were reminded that our circumstances and experiences do not define us as disciples. Jesus calls his followers to experience life to the full. Some of the guests have now begun studying the Bible.
Special thanks to Martina Ajao, who initiated the Women of Valor ministry. This ministry brings together sisters whose spouses are not members of the church, widows, single mothers, and women who are separated or divorced and who do not quite fit into the traditional singles ministry. Martina has helped these women feel accepted and know that they still have a place and purpose in God’s kingdom.
Jide and Biola Ojo, lead evangelist and women’s ministry leader for Lagos and English West Africa, joined us on Saturday. Biola supported the health demonstration, and the Ojos taught an inspiring message on Sunday based on the retreat’s theme and this year’s church theme.
Finally, we appreciate our brothers who supported us with media, photography, and other services throughout the weekend. You helped us capture and preserve special moments that made the retreat memorable. Thank you for generously giving your time and serving so faithfully.
