These ancient symbols invite us to encounter each Gospel with fresh perspective and deeper insight.

Matthew: The Man

Matthew presents Jesus as the long-awaited Messiah. His Gospel carries authority, fulfilling prophecy and declaring a Kingdom that has come, and is still coming.

Mark: The Lion

Mark gives us the most intense, urgent picture of Jesus. He moves quickly, showing a suffering servant whose actions speak louder than words. This is a Gospel up close: honest, raw, and real.

Luke: The Ox

Luke’s Gospel carries the weight of the world—Jesus as the humble burden-bearer, strong and compassionate. He lifts the lowly, centers the outsider, and calls all people into God’s upside-down Kingdom.

John: The Eagle

John soars. His Gospel draws us into divine mystery—Jesus as the eternal Word, the light in the darkness, the Son who reveals the heart of the Father. It’s poetic, profound, and deeply personal.
