Where in the world is Watford? It’s where Elton John grew up, and the Harry Potter films were made. We’re a town of 100,000 people in the UK. London is a 15-minute train ride away. Not so long ago, God inspired a few intrepid men and women of faith to start gathering for worship in Watford. The Spirit has swelled our numbers to almost 50 adults and a whole gaggle of children—not to mention our guests.
We are entering a new chapter. Our minister, Malcolm Cox, is looking to pass the baton. Who will receive that baton? Could it be you? It might be if you are someone willing to use the leadership gifts God has given you to serve, love and learn:
“We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to faith; ministry, in ministering; the teacher, in teaching; the exhorter, in exhortation; the giver, in generosity; the leader, in diligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness.” – Romans 12:6-8 NRSV
What and who are we looking for? The details are in the job description here. However, more important than the job description is your heart of humility. If you have the gift of leadership, an open heart and a growing faith, we will consider your application. If you love God, his people and the lost, we would love to hear from you.
If you are interested, we encourage you to pray before applying. If you are unsure, let us know so we can pray for you. You’ll get a flavour of the church from our website, YouTube channel, and podcast feed. Send questions here: [email protected].
Thank you for taking the time to read this post. If you are not going to apply, please pray for us that God will lead us to the right person or people.
God bless,
Becky, Bronwen, Charl, Danny, Malcolm & Penny (the Watford church leadership team)
