Around 90 women from Cape Coast, Takoradi, and Koforidu attended a three-day retreat from September 19-21 for a time of spiritual renewal, fellowship, and cultural celebration.

The theme was “Be Strong in the Lord,” and the retreat kicked off on Friday in Ejisu, a town in the Ashanti Region. Faustina Buah, women’s ministry leader of the Kumasi church, welcomed the sisters and stressed the importance of strength in faith and unity. The evening was crowned with a traditional Ashanti Adowa dance performance during dinner, highlighting the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Saturday began with a morning aerobics session that energized the women for the day ahead.

The first session, led by Mavis Dwumor and Joyce Azumah, focused on spiritual values. The teaching encouraged women to stand firm in their faith, guard their hearts, trust God, and stay rooted in scripture. The story of Mary and Martha was used to highlight the importance of balance in a Christian woman’s life.

A panel of women—married, single, and youth—then held a discussion, responding to audience questions and offering practical insights on living out their faith in different life stages.

In the afternoon, Yayra Ashong Mettle and Beatrice Agyapomaa taught on “Professional Values,” highlighting integrity, accountability, and excellence in the workplace. They urged women to reflect Christ in their careers.

The day ended with an evening of thanksgiving, testimonies, prayer, and praise. Dressed in white, a few sisters shared how God had moved in their lives.

Sunday’s worship service centered on the theme “Be Strong in the Lord,” delivered by Paule Dasse and Faustina Buah. They encouraged the women to trust in God’s power, especially during life’s challenges, sharing personal stories and biblical encouragement.

Young women, Anna Dasse and Valerie Mensah Kwao, also shared inspiring testimonies about their evangelism efforts on university campuses, reminding everyone of the importance of youth involvement in God’s work.

The retreat concluded with a lively dinner and fellowship, where sisters bonded over food, dancing, and shared reflections. We thank God for this blessed event and look forward to more opportunities for spiritual growth and fellowship. To God be the glory!
