Students in the Greatland Christian Church are making waves at the University of Alaska – Anchorage, through their HOPE worldwide campus club. The club, which switched from being a traditional campus ministry to a service-oriented campus chapter of HOPE worldwide , aims to reach those students who may not be currently interested in a relationship with God but have a heart to volunteer and help others. Members of the club volunteer weekly at local Boys and Girls Club chapters, a local soup kitchen, and a women’s shelter. Recently, UAA’s student-run paper, The Northern Light , wrote a feature about the club’s impact in the community. Through serving their community, UAA’s HOPE club is doing their best to love and invest in those around them as Jesus did.
