For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. – Ephesians 2:10 (New Living Translation)

This video was part of a service project the Manhattan Region of the New York City Church of Christ did over the summer in honor of the 2,996 people who were killed in the Twin Towers on 9/11. Over the course of this campaign, the ‘Big Apple Church’ gave over 4,300 hours of their time. During these many hours, over 77,000 people were served. We are so encouraged and honored to have been able to serve over 35,000 people more this year than our 2996 Campaign last year when over 42,000 people were served!

This great victory was the culmination of the entire church coming together to remember our fellow New Yorkers lost on that terrible day and, in that remembrance, bringing glory to God by serving the New Yorkers in need all around us. In addition to HOPE worldwide, other organizations were supported locally such as Red Hook Farms, The Common Pantry, NYC Summer Streets, Mad Fun Farm, NY Cares, Meals on Wheels, and many others. NY Cares Volunteer Relations Director Carrie England and HOPE worldwide CEO Robert Carillo came to the special 9/11 Sunday service in midtown Manhattan to celebrate the victory and express their gratitude for the service of the church.
