
The Hampton Roads Church is seeking two full-time campus ministers to serve, lead, and inspire the next generation of disciples. We are looking for a brother and sister who are passionate about Jesus, his kingdom, evangelism, discipleship, and the next generation.
The Hampton Roads Church is a vibrant, mission-driven fellowship with a long history of committed discipleship, community impact, and raising up next-generation leaders. As a campus minister, you will partner with the current ministry staff to help shepherd and grow vibrant campus ministries on multiple campuses across the Hampton Roads area which is home to more than 100,000 college students. You will play a central role in spiritual formation, evangelism, leadership development, and community-building on our college campuses. Here is what the future ministers can expect:
Campus ministry leadership
- Build and help bring God’s kingdom on campuses across multiple universities/colleges.
- Plan and facilitate weekly campus devotionals and worship gatherings.
- Evangelize regularly on campus and cultivate a culture of bold and loving outreach.
- Conduct and coordinate personal Bible studies with seekers.
- Disciple student leaders through one-another relationships, mentoring, hospitality and ongoing training.

Spiritual formation and discipleship
- Receive ongoing discipling and training from evangelists, elders, women’s ministers and staff.
- Provide spiritual guidance and pastoral care to students by partnering with ministry staff.
- Facilitate small groups, Bible discussions, and ministry training environments.
- Equip students to grow in their faith, character, and leadership potential.
Event planning and collaboration
- Plan and coordinate campus events, retreats, and workshops.
- Work collaboratively with other Virginia and ACR campus ministries.
- Partner with Jimmy and Kathryn Black in vision development, strategy, and team-based leadership.
Church-wide contribution
- Support the Hampton Roads Church’s overall mission to bring God’s Kingdom to the Hampton Roads area.
- Participate in broader church ministries such as preaching, event planning, and ministry training groups.
- Contribute to long-term ministry strategy in coordination with senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Strong personal walk with God and a passion for campus mission work.
- One to five years of experience in campus ministry, youth ministry, or church leadership (preferred).
- Ability to lead, teach, and disciple young adults.
- Humility to be trained by ministry staff and elders.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively on a team.
- A heart for evangelism, community engagement, and building diverse ministries.
- Willingness to work flexible hours based on campus rhythms and student schedules.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
