The West African Missions (WAM) leaders met in Port Harcourt, Nigeria from August 8-11 for a time of inspiration, worship, and collaboration.
The conference theme was “The Supremacy of Christ,” and brought together leaders from 35 congregations from six English-speaking countries. Disciples came from The Gambia, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia and Nigeria, and guests from East Africa and the US also attended.
On the first day of the conference, delegates bid goodbye to Chris and Rolayo Ogbonnaya who have faithfully served as WAM regional chairpersons for years. They also witnessed the appointment of Jide and Biola Ojo, lead evangelist and women’s ministry leaders of the Lagos Church in their place.
Teen rap and various cultural displays formed part of a colorful opening ceremony to provide entertainment for the evening.
The proceedings focused on practical leadership and life-stage classes over the rest of the conference. Finally, the event ended with a powerful message, “The Supremacy of Christ” delivered by William Auki, the lead evangelist from Nairobi, Kenya.
The next conference will be held in 2026 in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Check out more photos from the WAM conference here.
