The South Bay Church of Christ seeks a recent college graduate to serve for a one year challenge in the Los Angeles area.
The South Bay is a region of the Los Angeles metropolitan area, located in the southwest corner of Los Angeles County. The congregation has approximately 300 members with a mature, experienced staff focused on raising up the next generation. We are part of the Coastal LA Region that consists of the South Bay Church, Greater Long Beach Church, El Mensaje, and Ministerio Latino Americano. We also continue to support our sister churches in Central America, Mexico, the Middle East and Baltic regions!
Not only do we have multiple beaches and mountains to visit, but there are tons of things to do to occupy your time. There are countless coffee shops, thrift stores, not to mention the culture and diversity you will undoubtedly soak up during your time here. There are basketball games, baseball games, hockey games, you name it! Plus, with the multiple concert and entertainment venues, you can be sure to have so many chances for fun experiences with fun people.
The position is for a male intern that will work with our combined campus and young professional group. This role would focus on the two-year colleges of El Camino and Harbor College along with a growing young professional ministry.
We are looking for a fun and faithful out-of-the-box thinker that is not afraid to help us redefine what a faithful disciple is and can look like. Our staff is always trying to learn and educate ourselves in order to further Jesus’ cause and minister to those who seek refuge from religious trauma (and other issues we’re seeing in today’s society) in this community.
“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble ” – Psalm 9:9
Main responsibilities will include:

- Studying the Bible with people, and organizing and leading bible talks, devotionals, and outreach events
- Serving at non-profit events with Community’s Child
Training will be provided from the South Bay staff. Previous campus ministry experience preferred, but not required. A monthly stipend and housing will be provided.
